As a previous reviewer stated, there are two books that have very similar cover pictures, but very different text. I own the version that was authored by Jesse Hurlbut.

Good daily stories
I bought this to have short Biblical stories to read to my grand daughter at bedtime. This book is great and fits my purpose exactly.

Great Bedtime Book
Bought this for my children as their bedtime book and they love it. They love listening to the stories of the bible before going to bed.

This book is ok but may be for 8 year olds or older
No pictures for the young reader. Lots of stories to read each day though. Definitely recommend for older children aged 8 and above.

I was a bit disappointed in this. Not that I believe our children should only hear parts of Scripture and not the whole - but - there were some stories that were not "softened"...

My daughter loves this book. After you read each day's verse there are questions you can ask about what you just read, my daughter loves that the best. It is a great book.

I love the questions at the bottom of each page. Its makes it easier to better clarify the story to your children and encourages them to actively listen.
